A restaurant CRM that turns missed calls and WhatsApp conversations into bookings, customer relationships, and revenue.
The problem
During busy service periods, restaurants often cannot answer every phone call. A missed call can become a lost booking, as guests looking for a table are likely to contact another venue straight away. At the same time, unconfirmed bookings, no-shows, and information spread across phone calls, messages, and third-party platforms make dining-room operations and guest relationships harder to manage.
What we built
Smartables is a proprietary SaaS product designed and built from scratch to centralise bookings, customer communication, and guest data in one system. When a restaurant misses a call, the platform can automatically begin a WhatsApp conversation and guide the guest through a booking flow. The dashboard enables staff to manage availability, reservations, table maps, guest profiles, and communications. Automated reminders and confirmation requests help reduce no-shows, while automation and AI support answers to recurring questions about menus, allergens, and opening hours.
How it went
An operating system for hospitality that helps restaurants recover booking opportunities, reduce repetitive tasks, and build an owned CRM from everyday guest conversations.
In short
Smartables started from a simple but practical problem: during service, the phone often rings when nobody is available to answer. For a restaurant, that is not just an interruption; it can be a booking, a new guest, or a relationship that risks being lost. The product turns that moment into an immediate digital flow. Following an unanswered call, the guest receives a personalised WhatsApp message and can choose what to do next: book a table, request a callback, or ask a question. Staff receive requests and bookings through a central dashboard without having to interrupt service. Beyond missed-call recovery, Smartables brings together reservation management, CRM, no-show reminders, table maps, digital menus, analytics, and conversational automations. Its goal is to provide restaurant operators with infrastructure that is simple to adopt yet complete enough to replace fragmented processes with one operational experience.

What we learned
We got market validation wrong: we started building before really validating the product with industry experts and restaurant owners, instead of starting there.
